I fully support keeping the money in Nebraska. In the early 1970s I worked at all the race tracks in Nebraska in the mutual departments, and as a morning hot walker/stall mucker. I had the privilege of going to the top of aksarben grandstand on occasion. On good summer racing days there were 60 greyhound type buses in the parking lot for a Friday/Saturday weekend. Most of those riders stayed over night… think of the money spent on food and lodging. Other tracks always had out of town guests every day. Wagering 15% was split between horsemen purses, track operations, and state tax. Aksarben had many 3,000,000 dollar days. That is bunch of tax money into state coffers.
